Rivet is a device that allows the user to learn about their attention span in real-time, providing immediate feedback when inattention occurs. The user can then refocus and improve their attention span over time.
My teammates Diana Freed, Billy Dang, and myself implemented the project as an iOS app that accesses brain wave data from a wearable EEG sensor, and uses the data to measure the attention level of the user as well as the average period of time it takes the user to regain his focus once he loses it to distraction.
The data is collected in a session-based log. Each session is then visually indicated in a map to allow the user to perhaps form conclusions about the degree to which his favorite locations on both his attention level and his time to refocus.
